Ryne Pine drove in four runs to pace a balanced Clinton offense that pulled away from Meridian for an 11-1 win in Central Illinois Conference high school baseball action from Clinton Monday.
Pine finished 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs. Brock Wilson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, a run scored and walked at the top of the Maroons order.
The Maroons jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings and extended its lead to 8-0 before a three-run sixth inning put the game away on a run-rule walk-off.
Brooks Cluver was 3-for-4 with a run scored. Colton Walker finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice.
Monday's win was much needed for Clinton who had dropped its last three.
Mason Walker scored twice finishing 1-for-3 with a walk.
Clinton goes to 14-6 overall and 5-1 in the CIC. The Maroons are tied atop the CIC with Shelbyville.
