Normal Community edged its crosstown rival Bloomington 3-2 in Big 12 high school baseball action from Bloomington High School on Monday.
Owen Cavanaugh paced the Ironmen with a 2-for-3 afternoon including two RBIs and a stolen base. Josh Eisfelder drove in the other run for Normal.
Luke Klunke went six innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
Tyler Dowling went six innings for the Purple Raiders permitting three runs on four hits with four walks and six strikeouts.
Bloomington drops to 14-13 overall and 9-7 in the Big 12.
The Ironmen are 27-3 overall and 15-0 in the Big 12. They host Peoria Notre Dame on Wednesday before traveling to Peoria to take on Notre Dame on Friday.
