Jaxon Reynolds' run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Clinton a 3-2 walk-off victory of Warrensburg-Latham in Central Illinois Conference high school baseball action from Clinton Monday afternoon.
Noah Bass' RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning tied the game at 2-2 and forced the game to extra innings. Mason Walker gave Clinton a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
Walker struck out ten in 4 2/3 innings of two-run ball. One run was earned on two with six walks.
Preston Curtis held the Cardinals scoreless through 3 1/3 innings with three walks and three strikeouts.
Colton Walker was 2-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Josh Bass returned to the Clinton lineup and finished 2-for-3 with a double.
Ryne Pine had two stolen bases and Brock Wilson added a stolen base.
The Maroons are 19-8 overall and 8-2 in the Central Illinois Conference. Clinton will host Maroa-Forsyth on Tuesday.
