The Monticello girls basketball team could not keep up with Chicago Harlan and fell 55-36 at the Pontiac Super Sectional Monday night in girls Class 2A postseason action.
The Lady Sages trailed 15-8 after the first quarter but found their stride in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Falcons 18-4 and took a 26-19 advantage to the half.
But in the second half Chicago Harlan stepped up the defense as Monticello managed just two field goals in the third quarter and scored a total of 10 second half points.
Tatum McCall led Monticello with 17 points and Zanna Myers added 12.
The Lady Sages end their season 24-5.
