All past and present residents of Texas Township (IL) are invited to a covered dish picnic on Saturday, August 20, at Texas Christian Church at 8301 Texas Church Road (across from Texas Cemetery). A couple of generations ago, Ed Dial used to host a pig roast for neighbors and friends in Texas Township, and now his grandson, Gary Dial, would like to do the same. He has contributed the pulled pork, and the church is supplying beverages. Bring a dish to share, your lawn chairs, and table service for a time to get to know (or get reacquainted with) your neighbors! Food will be served from 12-2 p.m., but feel free to stay longer to socialize!
