On 03/18/23 Clinton Police investigated a Hit & Run accident at Van Buren & Madison. A vehicle driven by Ryan H. Dalton 54, Clinton was eastbound on Van Buren and was stopped at the stop light. A vehicle driven by Arginaldo Ramirez-Velazquez 40, Clinton was eastbound on Van Buren and did not get stopped in time and collided with Dalton. Ramirez-Velazquez walked away from the scene and was located a few minutes later. Ramirez-Velazquez was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving while License Suspended, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of a property damage accident. Ramirez-Velazquez was transported to the DeWitt County Jail and released to Corrections.
