Investigation into the scene of an accident, which occurred at approximately 2:47 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2011, revealed that a vehicle driven by Diane Shea, 60, Decatur was southbound on US 51 approaching the stoplights at the intersection with IL Rt. 10. Darrin Cooper, 37, Bloomington was westbound proceeded through the intersection with the green light. Cooper crossed the northbound lanes of US 51 and began to enter the southbound lanes when he collided with Shea. Witnesses confirmed that Shea did not stop at the stoplight. Shea was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Decatur Memorial. The occupants of Cooper’s vehicle were unharmed. Shea was issued citations for Failure to reduce speed/accident and Disobey Traffic Control Signal. Shea was issued a notice to appear and was released.

Kristine McCall, 38, Farmer City was arrested and charged with DUI/Alcohol. McCall posted the necessary bond and was released.
