Catholic Charities Files Lawsuit Against Illinois

Religious freedom is at the core of at recent lawsuit filed against the state.  Catholic Charities diocese in Springfield, Peoria and Joliet filed the suit claiming they should have the right to deny foster care and adoption licenses to same sex couples.  Governor Quinn says the organization isn't going to get preferential treatment.

Under the new Civil Unions law in Illinois, the religious group must provide licenses to same sex couples.  But Catholic Charities says that's a violation of their religious freedom.  The organization receives 30-million dollars a year for its services to the state.
