Charlene Guldbrandsen, 52, Bement, was issued a citation for Speeding (75 mph in a 55 mph zone). Guldbrandsen posted the necessary bond and was released.

Eldon Berg, 52, Decatur, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Berg posted the necessary bond and was released.

Investigation into the scene of an accident, which occurred at approximately 9:28 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011, revealed that a vehicle driven by Samantha Knackmush, 30, Decatur was northbound on US Highway 51 in the driving lane. Thomas Followell, 66, Clinton, a marked slow-moving vehicle was also northbound in the driving lane and partly on the shoulder. According to a witness, Knackmush approached Followell from behind, striking the rear of Followell. Both vehicles continued rolling into the center median of US Highway 52. Kanckmush was transported by ambulance to Decatur Memorial and Followell was transported by ambulance to Dr. John Warner Hospital. Knackmush was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident. Knackmush was issued a notice to appear and was released.
