A magazine has named several Illinois medical centers among the "Most Wired Hospitals" nationwide.
The designation honors hospitals that use information technology to streamline business, cut down on medical errors and improve clinical outcomes.
Those honored include the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood and Methodist Medical Center of Illinois in Peoria.
The designation comes from Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.
John DeNardo is the chief executive officer of the UIC Healthcare System. He says it's a prestigious award. It's the fifth year that the University of Illinois Medical Center has made the list.
