Ameren says it's working as quickly as possible to restore power to about 2,000 customers who lost power after storms swept across central Illinois late Thursday night
Ameren spokeswoman Victoria Busch said Friday afternoon that the majority of outages, about 1,600, were in the Peoria area.
She said she didn't have estimates on when power might be restored.
The National Weather Service says a weak cold front will move through the area, which could mean more scattered thunderstorms.
