Apple and Pork Preperations Continue As Festival Less Than Month Away

Less than a month remains before the biggest event in Clinton takes place.

The Apple and Pork Festival is almost here for the City of Clinton, and preparation continue. Larry Buss is the Resident Manager at the CH Moore Homestead, which hosts the festival. Buss explains he is still in the process of getting things worked out for the festival later this month.

The preparations at the site of the CH Moore Homestead takes quite a bit of time as well. Buss says getting where the different food vendors will be at marked and also the flea market area marked traditionally is a job that takes a lot of time.

Buss says one of the biggest parts of the event that he is proud of is the fact that of all the vendors around the grounds, they are all not-for-profit groups. He says it a great opportunity for those groups to raise money, and he feels having it that way helps the community a great amount.

The Apple and Pork Festival takes place the last weekend of September, 24th and 25th. Buss says they are still seeking the help of volunteers. He says this is a good opportunity for high school kids needing volunteer or community hours to get some of those knocked off. He asks anyone interested to give a call to the CH Moore Homestead at 935-6066.
