Pack Tops Bears; Illini Survives Scare; Rams Blasted

>>Packers Best Bears

(Chicago, IL)  --  Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes to Jermichael Finley as the Packers beat the Bears, 27-17, on Sunday at Soldier Field.  Rodgers passed for 297 yards with an interception for Green Bay, which moved to 3-and-0 on the year.  Greg Jennings had nine catches for 119 yards in the victory.  Jay Cutler passed for 302 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Bears, who have dropped two straight to fall to 1-and-2.  Chicago only had 13 rushing yards on 12 attempts in the loss.  The Bears host the Carolina Panthers in Week Four at Soldier Field.

>>No. 24 Illini Survive Western Michigan

Troy Pollard carried the ball for a career-high 133 yards and No. 24 needed all 3 of Derek Dimke's field goals Saturday to survive Western Michigan, 23-20.

The Illini trailed at the half 13-10 and the game was tied 20-20 with less than nine minutes to play. Booing Illini fans recalled a 23-17 loss to the Broncos (2-2) the last time the teams met in 2008.

Pollard's 49-yard burst midway through the fourth quarter set up a 21-yard Dimke field goal that gave the Illini (4-0) the 3-point lead they wouldn't give up.

Western Michigan quarterback Alex Carder was 30 of 48 with two touchdowns, 306 yards and one interception. His second-quarter scoring pass to Chleb Ravenell gave the Broncos their halftime lead.

Broncos receiver Jordan White caught 14 passes for 132 yards and a third-quarter touchdown that tied the game at 20.

>>Ravens Rout Rams

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Rookie Torrey Smith had five catches for 152 yards and three touchdowns as the Ravens routed the Rams, 37-7.  Sam Bradford threw for 166 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Rams, who fell to 0-and-3.  Brandon Gibson hauled in a 34-yard touchdown pass in the lopsided loss.  Next Sunday the Rams welcome in the Washington Redskins.  The 2-and-0 Skins face the Dallas Cowboys tonight on Monday Night Football.
