Clinton Board of Education Begins Search For New High School Principal

The Clinton Board of Education has begun the process of searching for a new high school principal.

Current Principal Ron Connor will be retiring at the end of the school year, leaving a vacancy to be filled. Superintendent of Clinton Schools Dr. Jeff Holmes explains they have begun to look at applications, to this point 25 have been submitted, and the process of interviews to fill the vacancy will begin very shortly.

The Board of Education and Dr. Holmes are looking for someone to be strong in 3 areas. They first want someone focused on academics. They also would like someone familiar with technology and can keep up with classroom technology. And finally they are seeking someone to promote extra curricular programs and get students more engaged in them.

Dr. Holmes feels the high school principal position is one of the most important in the district. He wants the person that comes in to be a good communicator and a positive person as well.

Current Principal Ron Connor has been serving in the district for nearly 18 years. The School District has advertised the position on various jobs sites around the country.
