The Clinton Maroons fell to the Monticello Sages with a final score of 63-47 Tuesday night from Monticello High School. The Maroons were led by Colten Reeves who had 13 points and by Greg Osgood who had 10 points in the game. For the Sages, Ryan Donohue led the balanced attack with 15 points. Nick Stokowski recoreded another double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. The Sages had four total players with double digit scoring. Kendall King had 10 points and Matt Kruse added 10 and 11 rebounds. With the loss the Maroons fall to 3-12 overall and 0-3 in the OVC. The Sages go to 5-9 overall and 1-2 in the OVC.
It was the first time the Sages had two players with a double-double in the same game when Cale Huisinga and Adam Koncel did in January of 2010.
The Monticello Sages wrestling team defeated Mahomet-Seymour last night for the first time in 25 years.
The Clinton Maroons Junior Varsity also fell to the JV Sages with a final score of 33-32.
The Clinton Maroons will be back in action Friday night as the host the Sullivan Redskins. And the Sages will also be back on the hardwood on Friday as they play host to the Meridian Hawks.
