It's the time of year for Illinois' lawmakers to sit down and prepare what their goals are for 2012.
Illinois State Representative Chapin Rose has two goals for this year. He feels continuing to trim the deficit Illinois faces down and also to continue to work to creat jobs. He feels lawmakers made progress last year, but they still have a ways to go.
Rose sees two areas of need to help stabilize the budget. He says first Medicaid is an issue and the second pension reform. Recently Governor Quinn has spoken out calling for pension reform.
Rose says a goal of his for the spring session is to find ways to keep the temporary tax increase indeed temporary.
Lawmakers make their way back to Springfield at the end of the month. Also during their time off, lawmakers will work on legislation they plan on proposing for 2012.
