Ruth Stauffer, Executive Director of the DC-DC, updated the DeWitt County Board last night at their regular monthly meeting on their organization's activity over the past year.  The goal of the group is to increase economic development within the county.  Stauffer adds adding and retaing jobs in the county is another aspect to the organization that is sometimes overlooked.

Stauffer notes another major project for the DC-DC in 2011 was keeping an up-to-date business and jobs inventory for DeWitt County.  She says it's surprising the number of businesses located within the county, and the organization tries to work with the businesses to find out any needs they may have and try to find ways to assist them.
