Republicans say Governor Quinn's proposals in his State of the State address yesterday will cost the state 500-million dollars. Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno says at this rate, it appears the temporary tax hike is going to be permanent.

Radogno says that kind of uncertainty makes Illinois a very unattractive place to do business. She says the state doesn't have the money to fund Quinn's new proposals, which include investing in early childhood education, extending grants for low-income students, and extending tax breaks to businesses that hire veterans. Radogno says the best way to improve the state's business climate is by fixing the state budget.
