Rams/Bears Notes

>>Rams Willing To Deal Number-Two Pick

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Rams apparently have plenty of potential trade partners if they want to trade down from the second overall pick in the April draft.  ESPN reports multiple teams have contacted the Rams about moving into that slot.  The Rams are reportedly willing to trade down for the right price.

>>Bears' Smith Updates Cutler, Urlacher Injuries

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith says two of his top stars are on the mend and progressing nicely from injuries suffered last season.  Speaking at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Smith said quarterback Jay Cutler and linebacker Brian Urlacher [[ URR-lock-er ]] are both completely heathly and are expected to participate in the team's offseason conditioning program starting in April.  Cutler miss the final six games of the season with a fractured right thumb, while Urlacher sprained the MCL in his left knee during Chicago's season finale.

Smith also said that running back Matt Forte [[ FOR-tay ]] will be back with the Bears.  The team could place the franchise tag on Forte before the March 5th deadline, but Smith said he believes the two sides will eventually agree on a long-term contract.  Forte rushed for 997 yards and three touchdowns and also caught 52 passes for 490 yards and a score last season.  He missed the last final four games due to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
