Clinton's Grant Street Location of First National Bank Closing

Clinton's First National Bank and Trust Company will be closing the facility located on South Grant Street.

June 30 of this year at noon, customers of First National Bank will be redirected to their main facility at 2 Kelli Court, next to the Clinton Shell Station. According to a letter released to their customers, the drive-thru services at 301 South Grant Street will be discontinued, however, the 24-hour ATM will continue to run.

The letter states, quote - "In 2012, First National Bank and Trust Company celebrates 140 years of serving DeWitt County. As the oldest bank charter headquartered in DeWitt County and the only National Bank charter with their primary banking office located in DeWitt County, our commitment to the community is as strong today as it has ever been. In 2005, an investment in our future was made with the construction of a modern facility to replace a building that was over 130 years old. Construction was completed in 2007, and this summer marks the fifth anniversary of our Main Office at the current location."

Employees at the Grant Street location will be transferred to the Main Bank. According to the customer letter, First National Bank is not in danger of going out of business and in fact, they have received a 5-star rating from the Bauer Financial Group every year since the early 1990s.

The Main Bank location was built with "the future in mind" and ready for expansion.
