Kentucky Holds Off Kansas In Title Game

Doron Lamb scored 22 points as Kentucky knocked off Kansas, 67-59, in the national championship game in New Orleans.  Marquis Teague added 14 points for the 38-and-2 Wildcats, who captured their eighth national title and their first since 1998.  Anthony Davis had six points, 16 rebounds and six blocks en route to being named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.  Kentucky's John Calipari earned his first national title in 20 seasons as a collegiate head coach.  Tyshawn Taylor netted 19 points for the Jayhawks, who were gunning for their fourth national title and their second in the last five seasons.  Thomas Robinson collected 18 points and 17 rebounds in the loss.  Kansas ends the year with a record of 32-and-7.

(Lexington, KY)  --  Dozens of arrests are made in Lexington, Kentucky following last night's NCAA championship game.  The Wildcats got the best of Kansas in a 67-59 victory at the Superdome in New Orleans, securing their first national title in 14 years.  After the win fans took to the streets in celebration mode.  Police in riot gear watched on until some of the revelers took things a bit too far.  There were reports of at least one car being set on fire.  Another vehicle crashed into a local bar and grill.  In addition to the arrests, scores of citations were handed out in the hours following the big win.  Cops say most of those were for alcohol-related offenses.
