Former Gov. Edgar Moves Back To Springfield

Former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar is back in Springfield, but he says it isn't because he's returning to politics.

Edgar and his wife, Brenda, have moved back to Illinois' capital city after almost 13 years of living in Champaign County.

Edgar explains he's enjoyed the time he's spent living in rural Seymour. But he says he'd lived in Springfield after college and raised his family there, so he'd always expected to move back.

Edgar says he felt the need to move away after he left the governor's office but it is time for his self-imposed exile to end.

Despite the move, Edgar plans to remain an instructor at the University of Illinois and a member of the university's Institute of Government and Public Affairs.
