The state is pitching in to help build roads in the Peoria area.  The state's Department of Transportation will start the final phase of widening Illinois Route 8 in Washington this summer.  Illinois Route 29 in Chillicothe is also on the construction list.  Crews will replace the BNSF Railroad viaduct which runs over the roadway.  The two projects will cost about 12-and-a-half-million dollars but they're expected to create jobs, reduce traffic congestion, and support economic growth throughout the state.
