Motorcyclists To Ride In Rememberance Of Iraq Dead

A central Illinois motorcycle club is holding its second annual ride in honor of 3 members of an Illinois Army Reserve unit killed in Iraq in 2004.

The Quiet Pride motorcycle club will ride from an American Legion Post in Washington to the 724th Transportation Company memorial in Alpha Park in Bartonville on today.

Specialist Gregory Goodrich of Bartonville, Sgt. Elmer Krause of Greensboro, N.C. and Staff Sgt. Keith Maupin of Batavia, Ohio, of the transport company died along with six civilian contractors in an ambush outside Baghdad on April 9, 2004.

Dennis Pickles of Quiet Pride said cars are welcome to join in the ride, too.

The 5-foot monument was unveiled at the park last year.
