Popular Novel-Based Movies Benefiting Local Library

The 'Hunger Games' is not only popular at the box offices, it's also popular at the library.

Like 'Harry Potter' or 'Twighlight', the 'Hunger Games' is the most recent series of novels to be turned into a motion picture, and the 'Hunger Games' is the first in a trio of novels written by Suzanne Collins. The novels have been very popular for about three years now, and Bobbi Perryman, adults librarian, and Paula Lopatik, Children's Librarian, at the Warner Public Library note the books are in both the adult and children's sections of the library and are very hot items right now, along with several other popular series of novels.

Movie profits have been on the decline recently. And because these books turned movies are so popular among young people, movie developers are working to find the next popular series to turn into movies. So what does Lopatik believe makes these books so appealing?

Perryman feels the stories have characters that people can relate to and care about. She feels it makes you enjoy the story more because of those factors. If you enjoy the 'Hunger Games', Perryman has a few other books you may enjoy.

Again the several copies of the full trio of 'Hunger Games' novels and many other novel series are available at the Warner Public Library. They are very popular but Lopatik and Perryman do have other recommendations to make for those who enjoy series such as 'The Hunger Games'.

To find out if these books or any other books you are interested in are available, you can contact the Warner Library at 935-5174.
