Sox, Cards Win; Cubs Lose In Ramirez's Retrun

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Jake Westbrook gave up three hits and an unearned run over seven strong innings to power the Cardinals to a 7-1 win over Cincinnati.  Matt Holliday, David Freese and Yadier Molina all blasted first-inning homers for St. Louis, which has started the defense of its World Series title 4-and-1.  Freese finished with two RBI while Molina drove in three.  Homer Bailey gave up four runs over five-and-two-thirds innings to take the loss for the Reds.  Brandon Phillips was 1-for-3 with a run scored for Cincinnati, which dropped to 2-and-2 with the loss.

(Cleveland, OH)  --  The White Sox used a three-run first inning to back a strong performance by Chris Sale in a 4-2 win over the Indians.  Sale went six-and-two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts in his first MLB start.  Hector Santiago came out of the bullpen to surrender a run, but grab his second save of the season.  Alejandro De Aza led off the game with a solo homer and A.J. Pierzynski [[ peer-ZIN-skee ]] added a two-run shot later in the inning.  Chicago has started the season 2-and-2.  Josh Tomlin gave up four runs over five innings to take the loss for Cleveland.  Carlos Santana and Jose Lopez had an RBI each for the Tribe, who have started the season 1-and-3.

(Chicago, IL)  --  Rickie Weeks clubbed a solo home run and former Cub Aramis Ramirez knocked in two runs in his return to the Windy City as the Brewers clipped the Cubs, 7-5.  Four other Brewers plated a run to back six innings of three-run ball from Shaun Marcum.  Marcum gave up just five hits and had six strikeouts to pick up the win.  John Axford struck out Starlin Castro with the bases loaded in the ninth to notch the save.  Darwin Barney and Brian LaHair each smacked solo dingers for Chicago, which is now 1-and-3 on the young season after dropping two-of-three to Washington over the weekend.  Shawn Camp was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs through two innings in relief of starter Chris Volstad.
