Convicted Murder Appeals To Illinois Supreme Court

Lawyers for a man convicted of murder in a 1991 central Illinois killing want the Illinois Supreme Court to take his case.

Attorneys for Jamie Snow argue an appellate court wrongly rejected his request for a new hearing and ballistics testing. Snow is serving a life sentence in a Joliet prison. He was convicted in 1991 in the death of gas station attendant Billy Little. His attorneys claim there are affidavits from several witnesses who have recanted or changed their testimony.

Snow's attorneys are with the Exoneration Project. They filed an appeal with the Illinois Supreme Court on April 9. Prosecutors have until April 23 to file a response. Then the Illinois Supreme Court would take the request under review.
