Miller Park Zoo Joining 'Largest Conservation Party Around World'

Schools and organizations around the country this week have been recognizing Earth Week.

Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington has a special event this Saturday. "Party for the Planet" is designed to promote Earth Week. Superintendent of the Miller Park Zoo, Jay Tetzloff, has a lot in store for those that make their way out this weekend. The zoo will have an electric car on hand from O'Brien Mitsubishi and of course there will be discussions on recycling and conservation.

With many years experience in working with zoos and helping preserve endangered species around the world, Tetzloff says he has seen firsthand the way irresponsibly treating nature can harm animals, and their natural habitats.

Zoos around the world are involved in programs to help restore endangered species numbers and then to return them to their natural homes. Tetzloff feels Earth Week is a good opportunity to promote those programs and the animals they have from them.
