Blackhawks Eliminated; Blues Prepare For LA

(Chicago, IL)  --  The Coyotes earned a 4-0 win over the Blackhawks to win their first playoff series since the team relocated to Phoenix in 1996.  Mike Smith turned back 39 shots to power the 'Yotes into the second round, where they will face the Nashville Predators.  Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Kyle Chipchura and Gilbert Brule [[ zjil-BARE  broo-LAY ]] each had a goal and assist in the win.  Antoine Vermette also scored for Phoenix in the victory.  Chicago's Corey Crawford made 16 saves in goal for the 'Hawks, who lost the series four-games-to-two.

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The St. Louis Blues will square off against the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference semifinals.  The Blues beat the San Jose Sharks in Game Five on Sunday to advance to the second round for the first time since 2002.  Meanwhile, the Kings eliminated the Presidents' Trophy winning Vancouver Canucks Sunday night in five games.  The schedule is still to be determined, but the 'Note will host the first two games as the higher seed.
