The committee had hoped to get details of the charges from U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.  But Fitzgerald says sharing the information could compromise his own investigation and case against Smith.  The Chicago Representative was arrested on March 13th and accused of accepting a seven thousand dollar bribe to help a daycare secure a state grant.  The committee is considering whether to sanction or recommend Smith for expulsion over his alleged behavior.
