As the Dr. John Warner Hospital works to update their strategic plan, there are many things they need to consider.

Finding areas of extra revenue, updating an aging building and finding better services to serve the community are going to be the focal points of the updated strategic plan. Director of Business Development at the DJWH, Sandy Rice says they know cuts are going to come, but they do not know how much. She says they need to find areas to make up for the cuts that are coming.

The city-owned hospital will be bringing in an outside firm to help aid the hospital in the update of the strategic plan. Rice explains the two groups they are considering have their strengths, so it will be a tough decision for the Board of Directors.

Becuase of a trio of resignations to the Board of Directors, a decision on the firm to hire to help with the Strategic Plan update may be a few months off.
