Illinois Lottery Glitch Led To Duplicated Tickets

A glitch affecting Illinois Lottery machines last weekend led to thousands of duplicate quick-pick tickets.

3,000 tickets were affected out of more than 6 million sold between last Saturday and Tuesday.

Lottery spokesman Mike Lang says the glitch occurred while new software was being uploaded to the machines. The lottery learned of the problem Tuesday and it has been resolved.

Lang says some machines weren't clearing numbers out of their memories from the previous ticket issued. So, old numbers were making their way onto the next ticket.

Customers can get reimbursed with new quick-pick tickets.

While some were left feeling like they got one losing ticket for the price of 2, others were twice as lucky.

There were 340 duplicate prizes that won.
