Investigation into the scene of an accident which occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, revealed that a vehicle driven by Colton Boyd, 21, Heyworth, was traveling east on Prairie Chapel Road near the intersection of Rosebud Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the guardrail on the south side of Prairie Chapel Road causing extensive damage to the entire vehicle. The driver and the other two passengers; Caleb Stine, 18, Bloomington and Kristen Lyons, 19, Normal; were all injured. Stine, who was seated behind the driver’s seat, sustained lacerations to his right arm and was transported to Advocate Bromenn Medical Center by ambulance. Lyons, who was seated in the back seat on the passenger side sustained lacerations to her face and was also transported to Advocate Bromenn Medical Center by Ambulance. Boyd was also transported by ambulance to Advocate Bromenn Medical Center. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Boyd was issued citations for Driving Under Influence, Improper Lane Usage and Failure To Wear Seat Belt. Boyd posted the necessary bond and was released.

 

Alex McDonal, 31, Springfield, was issued citations for Driving While License Suspended, Improper Lane Usage and Driving Under Influence. McDonal posted the necessary bond and was released.

 

Raymond Toohill, 41, Wapella, was issued citations for Failure To Give Information After Striking Unattended Vehicle and Careless Operation Of ATV. Toohill posted his IL Drivers License as bond and was released.

 

Melissa Wachter, 22, Springfield, was issued a citation for Illegal Transportation Alcohol. Wachter posted her IL Drivers License as bond and was released.

 

Tyler Scott, 17, Mansfield, was issued a citation for Operating Uninsured Vehicle. Scott posted his IL Drivers License as bond and was released.

 

Lucas Sprague, 22, Clinton, was issued a citation for Speeding (70 mph in a 55 mph zone). Sprague posted his IL Drivers License as bond and was released.

 

 

 

ALL SUSPECTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL FOUND GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
