Bombers Explode On Maroons

The Argenta-Oreana Bombers offense produced twelve runs to back five stellar innings from Senior Michael Cummins Tuesday afternoon at Clinton High School as the Bombers dropped the Maroons 12-0. Cummins helped his own cause with three hits, coming a home run short of the cycle. Freshman Keegan McHood added a 3-run triple and Logan sparks clubbed a solo home run in the first inning.

Cummins allowed just three hits, walked two and struck out three for the win.

Marshall Sprague picked up two of the three hits off Cummins. Sprague also was the losing pitcher for the Maroons going three innings, giving up nine runs on eight hits with five walks and four strike outs. He falls to 4-4 on the season.

The Bombers improve to 20-6 on the season and 7-2 in the Okaw Valley. Clinton drops to 16-12 and 5-5 in conference action.

The Maroons next ball game will be at Monticello Thursday. You can hear that ball game live on the Big 1520 AM/92.3 FM WHOW, 95.9 FM WEZC, and streamed live on dewittdailynews.com.

Monticello is 16-9.
