State Rep Candidate Charged With Domestic Battery

A candidate for state representative is being charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.  Natalie Manley, who's looking to represent Illinois' 98th House district, was taken into custody yesterday after her daughter claimed she attacked her.  The daughter told police Manley kicked her, punched her in the face, and tried to hit her with a set of keys.  The daughter says she left the home after the fight and had a friend take her to the police station, where police saw she had facial bruises.  Manley was arrested but denies she had a physical altercation with her daughter.  She ran unopposed in the March 20th primary to represent the state's 98th House district, which includes portions of Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Plainfield and Crest Hill.  Party officials say Manley is innocent until proven guilty and at this point, they have no plans to replace her on the November ballot.
