An Illinois State University graduate is putting her cooking skills to the test.  Kara Sigle [[Seegle]] is competing for her own Food Network show on Food Network Star.

Sigle says competing for a show on The Food Network is not as easy as people may think.

Sigle owns and operates Nostalgic Catering and says her point of view on the show is classic family recipes with a twist.  The show's eighth season opens this Sunday at 8p.m.  Sigle will compete against 14 other seasoned chefs. Sigle admits she had never watched the show before she auditioned.
