Rose Has Knee Surgery

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose reportedly had surgery on Saturday to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament.  Rose suffered the injury in the first playoff game against the Philadelphia 76ers on April 28th.  The injury occurred with 70 seconds left in the game as he went down after driving to a jump-stop in the lane and throwing a pass out to the right.  Chicago won the game, but went on to lose the series as the 76ers defeated the Bulls, the top seed in the Eastern Conference, in six games.  The 23-year-old Rose missed 27 of the 66 games this season with several injuries, including back spasms and a pulled groin.  When he did play, he averaged 21.8 points and 7.9 assists per game.
