The DeWitt County Sportsman Club is hosting a special event this Saturday.

Guns Save Life is hosting a Preparedness Expo to help people become better prepared for emergencies. Vice President of the Sportsman Club and coordinator of the event, Ed Adcock explains this will be a good opportunity to learn some basic ways to prepare yourself for unforeseen emergencies.

Several topics will be addressed at the expo, including food preparations during emergencies, basic home and vehicle emergency kits, firearm safety and personal defense among others. Adcock notes he learned to can food at a young age and feels that is a great skill to have, which will be addressed at the expo.

Adcock explains the day is structured so a different event is happening each hour. Each hour, and something will be going on inside the Sportsman Club while something is going on outside. He adds, if what is going on inside and outside isn't something you are interested in, the next hour two different topics will be discussed.
