Sox Sweep Cubs

Gordon Beckham and Adam Dunn blasted back-to-back solo homers in the fourth frame to back six-and-a-third scoreless innings from Jake Peavy as the White Sox blanked the Cubs, 6-0, to sweep the Windy City rivalry.  Peavy struck out seven and allowed just three hits with a pair of walks to improve to 5-and-1 on the season.  Tyler Flowers also clubbed a solo shot for the Southsiders, who have won four games in-a-row.  Paul Maholm gave up five runs through six-and-a-third frames of duty to absorb the loss.  The Northsiders have dropped six straight games.

The Northsiders head to Minute Maid Park this evening to open up a three-game set with the Houston Astros.  Matt Garza gets the nod opposite Bud Norris in the opener.  Meanwhile, the Southsiders are off today.  They return to The Cell tomorrow evening to host the Minnesota Twins in a three-game set.  Gavin Floyd will be on the bump in the opener.
