CORN PLANTING IS NEARLY COMPLETE AS 99 PERCENT IS COMPLETE AND THE CROP IS 88 PERCENT EMERGED. THE AVERAGE HEIGHT OF CORN IS SEVEN INCHES SAYS CHIEF STATE CROP STATISTICIAN BRAD SCHWAB.

SOYBEAN PLANTING IS NOW 80 PERCENT COMPLETE, AND 40 PERCENT EMERGED. SCHWAB NOTES THIS IS WELL AHEAD OF LAST YEAR’S PROGRESS.

AVERAGE STATEWIDE TOPSOIL MOISTURE STANDS AT THREE PERCENT SURPLUS…64 PERCENT ADEQUATE…29 PERCENT SHORT…AND FOUR PERCENT VERY SHORT.
