County by county April unemployment figures were released Thursday.
DeWitt County's unemployment rates dropped over half a percent from 8.1% to 7.4%.
Piatt County's unemployment dropped from 8.1% to 7.3%.
McLean County saw a half percent drop from 6.7% to 6.2%.
Woodford County recorded central Illinois' lowest rate at 5.7%, and neighboring Tazewell County dropped from 7.6% to 6.8%
Macon County unemployment rates dropped out of the double digits from 10.1% to 9.4%.
Logan County dropped .7 percent from 7.9% to 7.2%
Champaign County dropped a half percent from 7.5% to 7.0%.
In the south, Moultrie County follows the same path as most of the area dropping from 6.9% to 6.5%, and Shelby dropped from 8.7% to 7.9%.
The highest unemployment rate in Illinois was in Boone County, where they registered 10.8%, however they did drop 2.2% from March.
The lowest unemployment rate is in Brown County, where they dropped another half percent from 4.6% to 4.1%.
Putnam County saw the largest drop at 2.5 percent going from 11.7% to 9.2%.
Good news for Illinois in the month of April, there were no gains in any County in the state. The state's unemployment rate for April was 8.7% and the national average is 8.1%.
