DeWitt County Museum's Covered Bridge Restored

A landmark to those that frequent the Apple and Pork Festival each September that was destroyed at the DeWitt County Museum is back.

The covered bridge at the grounds of the museum was restored over the winter. Larry Buss with the DeWitt County Museum explains the bridge came down right around Thanksgiving of last year thanks to a windy night.

This time around the bridge should last for a long time as the frame of the bridge is now steel. Buss notes, it was not an easy task, but he is very grateful to the hard work of Waters Construction to restore the bridge.

Crews were able to get out during the mild winter to get the bridge restored. Buss feels that was a great break for the Museum to get an icon for so many back restored and back on the map.
