DROUGHT CONDITIONS CONTINUE TO GROW IN ILLINOIS.

STATE CLIMATOLOGIST JIM ANGEL SAYS WITH HOT TEMPS AND NOT MUCH RAIN ALL SPRING AND NOW INTO SUMMER...MUCH OF THE STATE IS INDEED SUFFERING A DROUGHT.

ACCORDING TO ANGEL, MUCH OF THE STATE IS IN A MODERATE TO SEVERE DROUGHT…WITH SOUTHERN ILLINOIS THE MOST DRY. HE SAYS TOTAL RAINFALL IS SIGNIFICANTLY DOWN THIS YEAR.

ANGEL SAYS IF WE DON’T GET A FEW GOOD RAIN SHOWERS SOON…CROPS WILL REALLY START TO SUFFER. THE JULY FORECAST IS CALLING FOR MORE OF THE SAME HOT WEATHER THOUGH WITH BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION.
