Protestors Line Streets in Waltonville

Protestors lined the streets in Waltonville, Illinois, calling on Governor Quinn to reverse his decision to shut down Southern Illinois facilities.  Tamms Prison and the Murphysboro Youth Detention Center are slated to close at the end of August but some say that will kill the already struggling economy in Southern Illinois.  Some protestors are carried signs calling for Quinn to be recalled as a result of the closures.  Quinn was in Waltonville to unveil a plan to help farmers deal with crop loss as a result of the drought. The event was held on a private farm.
