>>Allmendinger's Second Sample To Be Tested July 24th

(Daytona Beach, FL)  --  Suspended driver A.J. Allmendinger will have his "B" sample tested next week.  Allmendinger was temporarily suspended by NASCAR on July 7th for violating its substance abuse policy and has missed two Sprint Cup races so far.  The 30-year-old driver from Penske Racing failed his initial drug test that he took the last weekend in June when the Sprint Cup Series competed at Kentucky Speedway.

NASCAR says it has been informed by the NASCAR Substance Abuse Policy Program that Allmendinger's second sample will be tested on July 24th in Nashville, Tennessee.  Allmendinger has elected to have a designated independent toxicologist present during the test.  If Allmendinger's "B" sample comes back positive, NASCAR will then place him on indefinite suspension, meaning he will have to successfully complete a drug treatment program before he can be reinstated.

>>Carl Edwards Gets New Crew Chief

(Undated)  --  NASCAR's Carl Edwards has a new crew chief.  Bob Osborne has stepped down from his post with Edwards and has been replaced by Chad Norris.  Osborne cited an undisclosed health issue as the reason for his decision.  He had been crew chief for Edwards since his Sprint Cup debut in 2004.  Osborne will remain with Roush Fenway Racing as a senior member of the management team and steering committee.  Edwards is currently 11th in the Sprint Cup standings.
