Clinton's Summer Concert Series Back Until September

The Under the Prairie Stars Concert series with the Cattle Bandits will take place tonight on Mr. Lincoln's Square in Clinton at 7 p.m.

The series was delayed this year since Clinton Area Arts Resource Team disbanded, who was the series main sponsor. According to Executive Director of Clinton Chamber of Commerce Marian Brisard, Frontier Communications stepped up and is now sponsoring the event.

The concerts have had a good turn out the last few summers. Brisard says part of the goal of the concerts is to not only entertain, but to promote local talents and business. The Loft, Snappers and Sophie's will all be open during the concert, and the first two installments of the series are local bands.

Brisard encourages people to bring lawn chairs, since bench seating is limited on the Square.

The free concert series will be held the third Thursday of every month through September. The concert series will feature The Flying Nelson Brothers on Aug. 16 and the Jim Markum Swing Band on Sept. 20. For more information on the concert series, visit clintonilchamber.com or call 217-935-3364.
