(Chicago, IL) -- Jeff Baker doubled in two runs during a four-run seventh inning as the Cubs beat the Marlins, 5-1, in a rain-shortened affair. The game was called in the top of the eighth inning. Starlin Castro popped a solo homer for the Cubs, who have won five-of-six. James Russell was credited his third win. Jose Reyes hit a solo homer in the third for Miami. Josh Johnson allowed four runs in six-and-a-third innings to fall to 5-and-7.

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Corey Hart hit a two-run single during a four-run first frame as the Milwaukee Brewers held on for a 4-3 win against the St. Louis Cardinals. David Freese and Allen Craig both blasted solo home runs for St. Louis. Adam Wainwright struck out nine, but gave up four runs, one earned, in seven innings of duty to suffer the loss. The Cards have dropped five of their last six games. They look to bounce back against the rival Cubs tonight with Kyle Lohse taking the hill opposite Ryan Dempster.

(Boston, MA) -- Cody Ross homered twice and knocked in six runs as the Red Sox hammered the White Sox, 10-1. Adrian Gonzalez also went deep and plated the other four runs for Boston, which has won two-of-three in the four-game set. Felix Doubront fired six innings of four-hit, one-run ball to improve to 10-and-4. Paul Konerko smacked an RBI single in the first for Chicago. Pedro Hernandez was shelled for eight runs and 12 hits in four-plus innings to take the loss in his MLB debut.
