Ernie Els won the 141st Open Championship after a major collapse from Adam Scott. Els shot a two-under and finished the tournament at seven-under. Scott was the first and third round leader and started the final round four strokes ahead Graeme McDowell and second round leader Brandt Snedeker. The Australian long putter bogeyed the final four holes of the tournament. Tiger Woods closed out the event tied for third with Snedeker at three-under. McDowell was tied with Luke Donald in fifth at minus-two.
