Police Discover Combine Stolen In Illinois

Police have recovered a combine reported stolen from a farm field in Mason County.

Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh says the combine was found Friday morning in a field 60 miles away near Homer in Champaign County. Mason County sheriff's Sgt. Jason Brown says a farmer reported the combine stolen after arriving at his field Friday morning and finding it missing. In its place was a John Deere riding lawn mower.

Police tracked down the owners of the lawn mower and found it was stolen from rural Findlay in Shelby County. The thief would have had to ride the mower about 15 miles to reach the combine, a John Deere 9600.

Police ask for any information on the thefts be reported to the Macon County sheriff.
