LABOR DAY TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT IS ALREADY UNDERWAY IN ILLINOIS…AND INCLUDES BEEFED UP PATROLS AND ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECKS SAYS STATE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT SPOKESPERSON SHANNON ALDERMAN.

ALDERMAN REMINDS THAT UNDER STATE LAW…EVERYONE RIDING IN A CAR…INCLUDING THOSE IN THE BACKSEAT…MUST WEAR A SEAT BELT.
 
MOTORISTS SHOULD ALSO EXPECT TO SEE PLENTY OF COPS ON ILLINOIS HIGHWAYS AND LOCAL ROADS THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE EMPHASIS WILL BE ON ARRESTING DRUNK DRIVERS…SO ILLINOIS STATE POLICE MASTER SERGEANT MICHAEL VORREYER (vore-air) SAYS HE CAN’T STRESS ENOUGH THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A DESIGNATED DRIVER.
